55 Plus Taxi was created from a place of love, loss, and purpose. After the founder’s mother passed away from breast cancer during the COVID‑19 era, life changed in an instant. In the middle of that grief, the founder began driving for Lyft and Uber — staying connected to the community and finding comfort in helping others.
During those rides, she met seniors who were anxious, rushed, or unsure if their driver would truly look out for them. That’s when the vision for 55 Plus Taxi began to form.
What started as tragedy became purpose. The founder realized how many seniors needed safe, patient, trustworthy support — the kind of care her own mother deserved. Every detail of the business was created with her mother in mind, as a way to honor her memory and build something she would be proud of.
